Overview:

This instrument is used to determine the aggregate impact value (AIV) of coarse aggregates for pavements, such as crushed stone and gravel, to assess their resistance to sudden impact or shock loading. The test complies with JTG3432-2024 Highway Engineering Aggregate Test Procedures.

Technical Parameters:

Measuring Cylinder: Internal diameter 76mm, internal height 51mm, wall thickness 3mm.
Impact Cup: Cylindrical steel cup with internal diameter 102mm and internal height 50mm.
Tamping Rod: Steel rod, diameter 10mm, length 230mm, one end hemispherical.
Drop Hammer Weight: 13.75kg ±0.05kg, lower cylinder diameter 100mm, bottom edge with 1.5mm chamfer.
Drop Height: 380 ±5mm.
